Furnace Mill Fishery

Once again we had a very productive Saturday open match on Mucky Meadow and Furnace Pools with the latter producing 5 out of the top 8 weights.  Steve Harris, Daiwa Gordon League, was the victor with 186-11 from the very popular peg 5 on Furnace.  In second place was Chris Senter, Alan's Tackle, with 156-15 from peg 48 on Mucky Meadow and in 3rd place was Paul Cook, Mark's Tackle, with 102-12 from peg 13 on the narrow stretch on Furnace Pool.
Worm and caster were used by Steve but Chris used pellet and paste with both fishing just touching bottom about 10 metres out.  Paul's chosen bait was pellet and corn which he used to fish the far bank, however, he did say after the match that he would have caught twice as much if he had used maggot which is normally his preferred bait!
