Open Match 27th June 2010

E-mail Print
What a day, some of the lads wanted to watch a football match that was going on in South Africa so they decided to have a morning open match and forego their league points.  10 anglers took part and fished in the morning on Mucky Meadow Pool.  14 others probably made the right choice and didn't bother with the footie and had the league match in the afternoon on Mucky and Furnace Pools.

The weights for the morning match were as follows:

4 and 6 mm feed pellets are fishing best at the moment with the 6 mm expander or a cube of meat on the hook.  Plumb the depth accurately and fish with the hook bait just tip-toeing on the bottom.  Plenty of fish are being taken off the top or very shallow so adjust your feed pattern and the fish will come up to compete for the bait.
