Afterthe cold frosty nights this week we were not really sure what to expect from the open. Chris Bradney, Steven's Tackle, took the top slot easily with a catch of 116 lb 9 oz from peg 24 on Furnace Pool. He fished pellet, meat and corn taking most of his carp from the margins, he landed plenty of carp with some into 12lbs. Colin Matthews, Furnace Mill, came second from peg 8 with 80 lb 12 oz. He too took large carp from the margins using meat and pellet.
Third spot went to Paul Cook, Mark's Tackle, with 78 lb 12 from peg 63 on Willow Pool, he fished pellet and maggot to good effect. Sean Coffey, Mark's Tackle, was 4th with 61 lb 4 oz from peg 28 of Furnace. 19 anglers took part.| Name | Team |

Along with plenty of carp, silver fish were caught regularly on all the pools this weekend with plenty of quality roach, bream, chub and barbel falling to a variety of baits. Most productive bait was 4 or 6 mm feed pellet with 6 mm expanders, corn, meat and maggot on the hook.
