This was our last day match until the Autumn as the evening opens start next weekend. The sun was out and there were plenty of fish feeding providing good sport for the 16 competitors on Mucky Meadow.
In first place was Chris Bradney, Stevens Tackle, with 117 lb of carp from peg 32. He fished pellet just off the marginal shelf and landed lots of quality fish with one weighing in at 16 lb. In second place was Iwan Mills, Robins Timber, fishing shallow with meat he landed 97 lb 2 oz of carp from peg 48. Dean Sheldon, SBS, came in 3rd place with 91 lb 15 oz from peg 54. Andy Newton came 4th with 83 lb 6 oz from peg 44.Lots of fish are starting to move up in the water this week with the slightly warmer weather and the welcome sunshine and pleasure fisherman have reported some great catches off the top with bread or the Furnace Mill Floater pellets.
Matt Hayes and Mick Brown paid us a visit on Tuesday and Wednesday as they were writing an article for Trout Fisherman (June Edition) and were catching carp on the fly. It was really great to see the two friends (and Ed) enjoying themselves so much, especially as they caught loads of fish and Matt took some amazing photos.
