Furnace Mill Fishery

The Sunday Open was on Mucky Meadow Pool and was dominated by the Newton brothers.

Andy Newton, Furnace Mill, won the match with 48 lb 6 oz from peg 46 beating his brother John into second place with 41 lb 14 oz.  John Newton, also Furnace Mill, was fishing peg 38 but he won the silver fish battle by landing 11 lb 14 oz to Andy's 10 lb 14 oz catch.

The weights dropped off a little after that with Iwan Mills coming 3rd with 17 lb from peg 48.

On the hook the expanders are proving popular with the open anglers but pleasure anglers are opting for the ready prepared hookers. Corn and maggot fished over the red 2.5 mm pellet has produced steadily only light feeding required.
