The Sunday Open was on Mucky Meadow and Furnace Pools this week with 16 anglers taking part. In 1st place was Dean Sheldon, Fosters of Birmingham, with 52-6-0 from peg 20 on Furnace. Dean fished pellet and had a mixed bag of carp to 7lb roach, bream, chub and barbel.
In 2nd was Steve Harris DGL with 41-4-0 from peg 38 on Mucky Meadow Pool, he also fished pellet and caught carp to 8lb. In 3rd place was Ky Faulkner, Rod & Gun, with 41-2-0 from peg 13 in the narrow part of Furnace and he had mainly carp but also landed a few roach, bream and chub on maggot and pellet.

The more wintery weather has seen a few anglers putting their tackle away until the spring but for those who are still brave enough to sit it out there is plenty of sport on offer with different fish falling to a variety of baits. Don't forget that Monday to Friday we are now open 9 am to 4 pm and you can Fish at Furnace for a Fiver.
