This week the pools had been frozen from Sunday night until Thursday night with fishing available again on Friday. The weekend weather proved to be much milder although still cool in the afternoon. Chris Bradney, Steven's Tackle, won the match with 65 lb 14 oz of carp from the ever popular peg 38 on Mucky Meadow. Although his fish averaged 5 lb he had one that weighed in at 17 lb 6 oz.

Now into the 15th week and having been very cold all week the weekend weather was much milder with a little sunshine breaking through during the match.

First match of the New Year and everyone seemed keen to get out into the fresh air. 16 anglers took part and we used Furnace and Mucky Meadow Pools. In first place was Chris Bradney, Steven's Tackle, with 45 lb 4 oz from peg 48 on Mucky Meadow.

Open Match 11th December 2011

The penultimate match before Christmas was a cold one! All the pools had been covered with ice the day before but the milder and windier night thawed them out in time for the Sunday Open. The threat of storms seemed to put a few off so not as many as usual fished the match which was held on Mucky Meadow Pool. In first place was Mick Round, Old Dial AC, with 53 lb 2 oz from peg 36. Mick used maggot on the bottom towards the middle of the pool and caught carp to 7 lb.

Open Match 15th January 2012

The weather was against us again this week with temperatures dropping on Friday and Saturday nights and Ed was kept busy clearing the pools. Only 12 anglers decided to brave the weather for the open but we also had a club match on Willow Pool and pleasure fishing on Mill Pool. Furnace was well and truely out of action due to ice but Mucky Meadow was clear.

Last match before Christmas and the weather was against us. The overnight temperature dropped dramatically which meant there was ice on the pools this morning but Ed managed to clear the water and we held the match on Mucky Meadow Pool.
